| I have been rehabilitating since 1985 and our organization, Fellow Mortals, admitted over 1,200 animals in 1998, releasing 60% of them back to the wild. The reason I think these facts are important is to establish that I am not a "bleeding heart" incapable of euthanizing animals. It is my sad task to euthanize too many. This article is meant to provoke thought about giving up too easily on animals that could have survived had they been given the time, and about remembering that wildlife rehabilitation is about individuals: people and animals.
