Wildlife Care Intern — 3+ months Terria Clay, with foster goose “Hannah” If you intend to pursue a career in Wildlife Rehabilitation please see our posting for Wildlife Rehabilitation Internship (below). Qualifications:
Amenities: Housing – each year we rent an apartment or house close to the hospital for the use of interns. Interns will usually share a bedroom. Additional information about housing can be given at the interview. Payment — *Interns are compensated at 2 rates. Those interns committing to a 3 month internship will be given a stipend of $500/month plus housing and utilities. Interns committing to 4 months or more will be given $500/month for first three months and will then receive $600/month for remaining internship. Length of Term: Start Date: Please email cover letter, resume (including work, education and volunteer experience) and a minimum of 2 professional references with email contact information. Upon receipt of resume and cover letter, qualified applicants will be emailed an application questionnaire to be completed and returned within 7 days. Short-listed applicants will be scheduled for an in-person or Skype interview. Successful applicants will be contacted within 7 days of the interview, following a reference check. | Wildlife Rehabilitation Intern — 9-12 months We are looking for an exceptional candidate to fill this internship position. Preference will be given to individuals intending to pursue a career in wildlife rehabilitation; however we also offer Wildlife Care internships for those with broader career intentions. This position is designed to give experience in all aspects of Wildlife Rehabilitation from animal care to fundraising and education. Primary responsibilities will be animal care, focusing on orphan care (feeding and cleaning) during the spring and summer months; however, the intern will also gain experience in:
Interns work ~ 60 hours/week and gain valuable experience while helping wildlife and working with Fellow Mortals Professional staff rehabilitators who will mentor you throughout the internship. This internship is an intense experience and therefore best suited to individuals passionate about animal care and wildlife rehabilitation.
